Con Duties

April 20, 2008

This past Friday was the beginning of Kawaii Kon 2008, a local Anime convention held annually at the Hawaii Convention Center. I’ve been the busy the last two days demoing games of Warmachine and Hordes. I did manage to get some time to play some games though. Today is the last day. I can’t wait till its over!

I finally finished touching up and rebasing my  Griffin Army. Now all I need to do is find someone to play against.

Based!

April 6, 2008

I spend last night and some of this morning basing my Confrontation figures. I am almost done with all of my Griffins (only 3 more to go). I am still debating on basing my Wolfen or not.

More Confrontation Touch Ups

April 3, 2008

I touched up more Confrontation models. The Fusiliers were fast and easy as a brown ink over the coats really brought them out. Also took pictures of my Spearmen touch ups.

Rackham Bug

April 3, 2008

The Rackham bug certainly has gotten to me these past couple of days. In the last couple of days I’ve ordered my Confrontation and AT-43 figures. On the way are:

Certainly I’ve been bitten by the pre-painted goodness of Rackham

Spicing Up the Spearmen

April 2, 2008

Today I did something really simple to my Griffin Spearmen. I painted the grey parts of their spears black. It makes them look a lot better and actually stand out more. No pictures because I don’t feel it’s really a big deal, but big enough to pass around.

Templar Touch Ups

April 1, 2008

I really love the new Confrontation Templars that I may actually take the time to paint up on full unit. Here’s a picture of one that I quickly touched up.

Griffins Are Here

March 31, 2008

I’ve got to give a hand to the U.S. Postal Service. They are really fast. 4 days from New York to Hawaii over the weekend and my Griffins are here. I took some pictures of them straight out of the box for anyone interested. I really like the Templar models and will touch them up. The Fusiliers are screaming to be touched up around the heads. I also don’t know why a majority of them are looking up. Oh well.

More Confrontation On The Way

March 30, 2008

Just got confirmation that more Confrontation is on it’s way. I ordered a second unit of Templars for my Griffin army. I’m tempted to pick up more Wolfen just so I can lend models to someone else to play with.

Rackham Growing Locally

March 27, 2008

I am pleased to see the Rackham games are growing here locally. We got a couple more people into AT-43 and in a bit I won’t be the only one in our game group to pick up Confrontation. In anticipation of all this new gaming blood I ordered some more Confrontation stuff to build up my Griffin army. I was tempted to get another starter set but I really don’t feel like playing Wolfen. That may change when the army book comes out. I should be getting the following in the next couple days:

  • Griffin Templars Unit Box
  • Griffin Templars Attachment Box
  • Griffin Fusiliers Unit Box
  • Griffin Army Book

What I’m really waiting for this year are the new Dirz models. It’s going to be a while so knowing me I’d probably end up buying Wolfen in between all the wait.

Confrontation Scale Change?

January 11, 2008

It seems to me that the scale of the new Confrontation miniatures are no longer 30mm. They now seem to be 28mm. I wonder why they would deviate from that. They say the models are supposed to be compatible but it seems that they would look off with each other.
