Daemons Are In

May 10, 2008

Well not entirely, just the first wave. Last night I picked up the last box of Daemonettes and Bloodletters from one of my LGS and today I got second box of Dameonettes and Bloodletters and the Codex and Army book. I’ve also signed up for our local Rouge Trader Tournament that’s coming up this month. I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me if I plan on bringing a Daemon army there.

The Crazy Warmachine Game

May 3, 2008

Last night I played some Warmachine and we couldn’t decide how many points we were going to play. My friend jokingly said he’s going to play everything he brought. I told him let’s do it. Let’s try something crazy. So we rolled for terrain and placed terrain then rolled for deployment. He got to go first. Here’s what was deployed on the table. Read the rest of this entry »

Flames of War: Tigers Marsch

May 1, 2008

Today I picked up the Tigers Marsch box set from one of our LGS that mainly pushes Flames of War. This is my second time trying to get into this game. My hopes is that this small platoon would allow me to at least finish one army and play this game.

Flipping Out

April 29, 2008

Today I purchased the Flip Ultra video camera. I’ve read many good reviews about it online and seen very good sample clips that really high light it’s abilities. I plan on taking it with me to GenCon to get some quick video coverage that I can easily upload at the end of the day or at the con (depending on wifi rates) with out the hassle of real time video transfer through my MiniDV’s firewire port. The Flip Ultra has 60 minutes of recording time which is equivalent to one MiniDV tape. It also uses standard AA batteries which will allow me to easily power up again just in case I use up all of it’s 5 hour battery life.

Daemons Ordered

April 28, 2008

Today I placed an order for some Warhammer 40k/Fantasy Daemons. Instead of going all out and buying an entire army in one shot as I usually do I decided to start this army small and smart. I ordered only ordered 4 things that have the same release date of May 5. I ordered the Daemon Army Book, Daemon Codex, 1 unit of Daemonettes of Slaanesh and 1 unit of Bloodletters of Khorne. I plan on working on these and actually finishing them before ordering another batch. Hopefully this method will work for and prevent me from accumulating a mass of models that seem too daunting of a task to accomplish.

More AT-43 Stuff

April 26, 2008

Looks like I will be buying UNA. I was fortunate enough to be given an AT-43 starter box yesterday. It has 2 factions that I never or nor longer have UNA and Therians. Looks like I will be starting a UNA force.

Guild Witch Hunters: Sonia Criid

April 23, 2008

With all the pre-painted stuff I’ve been accumulating it may seem that I haven’t painted anything in a while. Never fear! I have not given up painting. I am currently working on a Guild Witch Hunters skirmish group. Here’s Sonia Criid. I also got some Witchling Hunters in the mail today so I will be assembling them later this week as well.

Monsterpocalypse: What We Know

April 22, 2008

I decided to put all the information that I’ve found about Monsterpocalypse in

one place… or post if you will.

Mosterpocalpyse Official Website
Mosterpocalypse Developer’s Blog

The Monsterpocalypse CMG will launch with over 80 pre-painted plastic figures in the initial set and will include large-scale monsters, destroyable city structures, and vehicles. Planned for release at retail in 2008, figures will be sold in randomized booster packs and non-randomized starter games, and special figures will be available at events throughout 2008.

Across the Pond Studios is working closely with the game designer and creator of Monsterpocalypse Matt Wilson to bring the world of the game to life on the comic page. In addition to creative direction from Matt Wilson, the series credits include story by Stephan Nilson (Smallville and Batman Strikes), script by Jason Avery and Stephan Nilson, pencils by Karl Waller (X-Men and Motorhead), inks by Rick Bonilla (Atomik Mike), coloring by Barry Williams (Atomik Mike), and cover art supplied by the Privateer Press stable of artists.

The models are being designed and sculpted by the same people who are responsible for making our WARMACHINE and HORDES models look so great. It’s the manufacturing that will happen out of house— we’re not equipped to produce plastic.

The rules are being made IN-house, yes. By the same guy that designed WARMACHINE and HORDES…

The average monster will be 60mm tall.

There will be 6 factions Read the rest of this entry »
